Birchwork Studios is run by Reece Birch, a sole trader based in Sandbach, Cheshire, UK. This page explains what personal data this website collects and what happens to it. If you have a question, email hello@birchworkstudios.com.

What I collect

Only what you type into a form on this site:

Quote form: your name, email, business name, current website and your message.
Free site check: your website address and email.

I don't use analytics trackers, advertising cookies or social media pixels. The site may set a small preference in your browser (for example, whether you chose £ or $) which never leaves your device.

Why I use it

To reply to your enquiry, send you a quote or a site check, and talk about your project.
If you become a client, to deliver the work, send invoices and keep basic business records.

The lawful basis is legitimate interests for replying to enquiries, and contract once you become a client. I'll never sell your data or add you to a mailing list without asking.

Who else handles it

A small number of trusted services help run the site and business. They process data on my behalf only:

Cloudflare for hosting, security and email forwarding.
Supabase for storing form submissions.
My email provider, for replying to you.

Some of these services may store data outside the UK, under safeguards approved by UK data protection law.

How long I keep it

Enquiries that don't go ahead: deleted after 12 months.
Client records and invoices: kept for 6 years, as HMRC requires.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask to see the data I hold about you, correct it, delete it, or object to how I use it. Email me and I'll respond within one month. If you're unhappy with my answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
